Chinese Boxes

that delicate bitter taste
an addictive aroma
that lingers lightly
in the nose
however brief
it levitates the mind
perhaps create a grain
of thought
the oddest
that freedom is a contradiction
a paradox
true freedom carries
no responsibility
no consideration
yet this phenomenon called
is just like pleasure
there is a price
and as always
Fate will collect the debt
with no obligation of any sort
for us life is a matter of
encased by Chinese Boxes
surrounded by hours and minutes
how unique!
as we graduate from one box
to the next
one prison to another
lost in the labyrinth
of screaming dreams
we wander
but are never free

About pmisteil

Hi, my name is Paul though I write under other names like, Thatcher and Paolo, I love literature, art and architecture their passion and drama....the contradictions. The notion of Truth-who is the person behind the mask? Or does it matter! I like long walks and longer conversations over cappuccinos in a cafe with atmosphere and the rest is a journey!
