The Sound OF Protest

i’m here
drinking coffee
i should be standing
at a bus stop
but the clouds have release
their fury
angry rain
beating the concrete into
submission
a silent wall of protest
against authority
unreal, but symbolic
shouting in soundless
screams
stop, stop
this official policy of
contrition
squealling
” protect the institutions of
inquisitions”
the propaganda of dribble
we are slipping back
to the land of fiscal
rectitude
where are the poets of the Thirties
Auden, Spender and MacNeice
to prod authority with
the rod
where are the sisters
Justice and Equity
have they gone on holiday?
given leave of absence
by this dubious authority
sound the horn or
better yet write….
counter claim the propaganda Right!

About pmisteil

Hi, my name is Paul though I write under other names like, Thatcher and Paolo, I love literature, art and architecture their passion and drama....the contradictions. The notion of Truth-who is the person behind the mask? Or does it matter! I like long walks and longer conversations over cappuccinos in a cafe with atmosphere and the rest is a journey!
