I Didn’t Know Then

i know the feelings of turmoil
a heart left for dead
a soul bereft
i know the words
of one who is tormented
though some perhaps
are lost in the attic
in the backyard of memory
some i have buried
in those moments of panic
i know the pain
on a tear drenched face
or the halo of red
hiding under the eyelids
after crying….
yet embracing the hurt
maybe the only emotion
in a life torn to shreds
but here’s the thing
i don’t know
i didn’t know then
i was simply numb
with grief

About pmisteil

Hi, my name is Paul though I write under other names like, Thatcher and Paolo, I love literature, art and architecture their passion and drama....the contradictions. The notion of Truth-who is the person behind the mask? Or does it matter! I like long walks and longer conversations over cappuccinos in a cafe with atmosphere and the rest is a journey!
